  • Facial Recognition - Viisage's patented face-recognition technology, originally developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, uses "eigenfaces," which map characteristics of a person's face into a multi-dimensional face space. Viisage has advanced this technology with an additional 100 person years of research and development. Today, database searches and verification are conducted with unprecedented accuracy and split-second processing!

  • Iris Recognition Protects Access to Infant Station In Hospital - Iridian Technologies announced that its iris recognition technology is being used to protect access to an infant station in the City Hospital of Bad Reichenhall in Bavaria, Germany. Byometric, a systems integrator and Iridian partner, completed the installation of the system. The technology enables only authorized people to gain access to the infant station. This includes mothers, nurses, and doctors, who enroll their irises in the system and are later authenticated against the stored template.
