- The Center for the Study of Rural America grows out of a strong tradition of excellence in researching rural and agricultural topics at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. The Center is producing studies on leading economic topics that will define the future of the people who work and live in rural America.

- An independent non-profit research centre undertaking applied socio-economic research into rural issues, founded in August 2000 as an independent research centre at the University of New England.
