To make your voluntary Editor contributions quick and easy, we are offering this easy-to-configure and easy-to-install bookmarklet, a Javascript 'mini-app' you can place on your browser's Links toolbar. Once installed, you'll be able to 'quick click' any page or website you visit as a suggested link to the NARFI Rural Resource Directory.
Hot Tip: This bookmarklet 'plucks' the URL, page title AND whatever text you have selected in your browser view which is supplied as the description field in the Add a Resource window opened by the bookmarklet. This makes your NARFI Rural Resources Directory submissions quick, easy and accurate. Thanks for your help.

Adding the NARFI Directory Editor Bookmarketlet is as easy as 1, 2, 3... configure, generate and install the bookmarklet.
This bookmarklet is for editors using Netscape Navigator. If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, go to this page for the Internet Explorer bookmarklet.
To get going with your quick-shot NARFI Editor bookmarklet for Netscape Navigator do the following:
Configure: This sets the information 'captured' into the bookmarklet 'engine' that is reused when the bookmarklet button or link is clicked. This captured information, along with the information 'pluked' from the page you are viewing in your browser, is used to fill in the Add a Resource form for submitting an entry to the NARFI Rural Resource Directory.
Generate: Javascript within this page is used to generate the drag-and-droppable bookmarklet link below. When your entries above are set, press the Generate bookmarklet button and follow the directions below:

Install: When you hit the Generate bookmarklet button you will see a clickable link. Don't click on the link!
Point the left mouse button on the link, hold down the mouse button, and drag it up to your links bar, and drop it there. That's all there is to it. Try it out!If you don't want the button in your Links toolbar (or you don't use the Links toolbar at all), you can add the bookmakrlet link to your normal favorites or bookmarks list. Right-click the link (in Windows) or hold the mouse button over the link (on a Mac), and select "Add to Favorites/Bookmarks" from the pop-up menu. You can even drag and drop the link to your desktop to create a clickable icon.
